Duo Vox Humana

Bastien Milanese born in Pamiers, southern France, in 1985, Bastien Milanese began learning music with the piano before studying the organ with Stéphane Bois. He became in 2006 sub-organist at the Cathedral of Mirepoix and co-titular in Cintegabelle the following year.
He studies at the university in Toulouse where he obtained a degree in musicology. Having relieved of his duties in the Ministry of Education, he is appointed organist in L’Isle-Adam (near Paris) and studies singing with Elisabeth Guy Kummer, a former student of Christa Ludwig.
Bastien Milanese obtained in 2013 a first prize at the singing contest "Les Clés d’Or" in Villemomble, and starts a soloist career all over France, accompanied by the piano, the orchestra or the organ. With Julien Girard, he created Vox Humana Duo (voice & organ) which specializes in romantic and post-romantic English music.
Bastien Milanese is also choirmaster. Graham O'Reilly’s assistant for the Ensemble Vocal de Pontoise, he conducts the choir "Le Tourdion" in Andrésy.

Julien Girard began studying music at middle school and quickly started studying piano in Bergerac and choral singing in high school. He grew a real passion for the organ and started studying Conservatory in Bordeaux with François Espinasse, along with the piano, solfeggio and sight reading. He obtained, at the university in Bordeaux, a Master degree in musicology, in 2000. He then became music teacher at middle school.
Meanwhile, he continues to practise singing with Cécile Bonnet and Sophie Fournier and sings in several Parisian vocal ensembles (Stella Maris / LuxÆterna). As an organist, he plays regularly in several parishes in Paris and surroundings, and appears in solo recital (including Montreal, Washington, Philadelphia, and Germany) or with Vox Humana, the duo formed with Bastien Milanese.
