Our Good Friday event this year will feature Gospel music and music of protest. The church has been trying to make sense of the very difficult times we are living through including the rise of nationalism and xenophobia. We realise that an important Christian musical tradition comes out the experience of oppression and slavery and so we want to make the connections.

We will welcome VADE, who are rising stars in the British Gospel scene, the London International Gospel Choir, a choir of African women who are part of the Phoenix Group, two Latin American groups – Breaking Boundaries and Phaxi Coca, Boe Huntress and Masashi Fujimoto. There will also be poetry from Brave New Voices – a group of young refugees and Bangladeshi dance from Syeda Tasmi Tahia and Syeda Tasnia Tahsin.
