+ Blair Dunlop
Thea Gilmore releases her 18th album, The Counterweight in May 2017, on Cooking Vinyl Records. Thea writes all her own material and Bruce Springsteen has cited her as one of his favourite songwriters. Her last 2 album releases have made the Top 40, with the single ‘Lover Came Looking For Me’, recording a coveted Radio 2 single of the Week.
She appears here with her live band, featuring husband and Producer Nigel Stonier on Guitar and keyboards. This will be one of a few dates on Thea’s early summer UK tour.
Special guest for this show is Blair Dunlop whose career continues to go from strength to strength. He has won awards, toured all over the UK and overseas, collaborated with a variety of writers and musicians, moved to London and set up his own record label (Gilded Wings Records), all of which have informed, and are reflected in, his mature and astute musical musings. The Guardian described him as “an increasingly adventurous songwriter", and it rings even truer now. Blair has the confidence and experience to make the music he has always wanted to.
