Melissa Parmenter is a well-respected film producer, who’s collaborated closely with director Michael Winterbottom over the last 15 years, including producing all three series of “The Trip” trilogy. She’s also an accomplished composer and pianist, having scored a number of films, including “Genova”, “The Killer Inside Me” and “Comes a Bright Day”.
After repeatedly meeting at various festivals last year, Ben McManus and Clara Delfina decided to join forces to sing American Old-Time and Bluegrass music, blending banjo, fiddle and guitar with their beautiful harmonies.

Globe Soundtrack and Score is proud to release ‘Scandinavia’ - the debut recording on the label from the acclaimed dynamic, versatile British film producer, composer and pianist, Melissa Parmenter.
‘Scandinavia’ is a suite of five original compositions, released as a digital EP on 24th March 2017 to coincide with Piano Day (29th March 2017), an annual worldwide event which celebrates the diversity and enduring nature of this wonderful instrument, held on the 88th day of the year to represent the number of keys on a piano.
With works scored for either solo piano or piano and cello, the ‘Scandinavia’ suite features the accomplished Parmenter on piano, with Harry Escott on cello. All tracks were recorded & mixed by Nick Taylor at Air Edel Studios.
‘Scandinavia’ showcases Parmenter’s life-long love of the piano and her complete mastery of the craft of composition. The works demonstrate her fascination with textures and the layering of sound and demonstrate how easily and seamlessly she moves between her chosen worlds of film and music and how they are united and perfectly expressed here.
Known for her extensive work as a producer in the film industry, Melissa Parmenter began her close collaboration with director Michael Winterbottom over fifteen years ago, serving as associate producer on ‘9 Songs’ (2004). Since then, she has produced many of Winterbottom’s films, including all three entries in the critically acclaimed ‘Trip’ trilogy - ‘The Trip’ (2010); ‘The Trip to Italy’ (2014) and ‘The Trip to Spain’ (2017). Parmenter also produced Winterbottom’s Paul Raymond biopic, ‘The Look of Love’, starring Steve Coogan, Anna Friel, Imogen Poots and Tamsin Egerton; the prison inmate drama ‘Everyday’, starring John Simm and Shirley Henderson; ‘Trishan’, an adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’ set in India, starring Riz Ahmed and Freida Pinto and tabloid murder story ‘The Face of an Angel’, starring Daniel Bruehl, Kate Beckinsale and Cara Delevingne.

After meeting at various festivals last year across Britain, Ben and Clara have teamed up to play and sing American Old-Time and Bluegrass music, mixing the Banjo, Fiddle, Guitar and harmony vocals. Clara hails from Fort Collins in Colorado, USA, while Ben resides in Cardiff, UK. This cross cultural mix bringing together two musicians who have both played and studied Appalachian folk music for a long time, brings out there own style of the sound, with alternative versions of classic tunes and new takes on the Appalachian tradition.
Upon Bens visit to Colorado, the duo have recorded their first album together 'Homespun' at the Blue Fox music studios. The album is available now and also to purchase from them on their up and coming UK tour.
